Police: Five Dead, Including Three Children, in Suspected Murder-Suicide

NewsFeed

Police believe the bodies of five family members discovered in a Toledo, Ohio garage were victims of a murder-suicide sparked by a custody dispute between a grandmother and her daughter.

The bodies of Sandy Ford, 56; Andy Ford, 32; Paige Hayes, 10; Logan Hayes, 7; and Madalyn Hayes, 5, were discovered by police Monday afternoon in a garage on the city’s west side.  After reportedly finding “suspicious” notes from his family, Sandy Ford’s husband, Randy, became worried and called police to check on them. When he went to his home’s garage door he said he found it barricaded. Toledo emergency responders broke down the door but too late; all five were found dead of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Appearing on “Erin Burnett OutFront,” the former White House Press Secretary described McCain’s words as “one of the more shameful comments I’ve heard in more than 20 years of being in politics.”

This evening, McCain does not backpedal:

History suggests that Michael Bourn is likely to be a bust

HardballTalk

Center field is the one strong position in free agency this winter, and many teams appear to see view Michael Bourn as the head of a class that also includes B.J. Upton, Angel Pagan and Shane Victorino.

I do no share that view.

Bourn turns 30 next month. He was one of the NL’s better players last season, but a large part of that was his defense. He hit .274/.348/.391 for the year. It’s the fourth straight year in which he’s finished with with an OBP close to .350. He’s slugged right around .390 in three of those years, though he came in at .346 in 2010.

The big problem with Bourn is that he strikes out a great deal for the hitter he is. In fact, he’s struck out in 20.2 percent of his plate appearances through his seven seasons, all while hitting just 22 homers.

Bourn is one…
